Camp Reports

The annual Scout Camp is always the highlight of the Scouts year. This is normally a week away with no parents and time to put into practice all that has been learnt during the previous year at Scouts. Will they be able to cook for themselves for a whole week! Only time will tell.

Tanners Hatch Youth Hostel Weekend

A weekend orienteering was undertaken by the Scouts over the weekend of 19/20th October 2001. Based in Tanners Hatch Youth Hostel, in the middle of Ranmoor Common near Dorking, Surrey, the Scout spent one night indoors and one night camping outdoors. Saturday was spent orienteering around the common.

The Scouts took part in Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) on the Sunday.

As some of the Coast Path was open a hike from Maypool to visit the 'Golden Hind' at Brixham and return was enjoyed. The Scouts enjoyed pretending to be pirates on the ship, each taking turns at the helm; though none could be persuaded to walk the plank.

County Scout Jamboree 2000
The 2000 Jamboree was a wash out, however good fun was had by all as we returned to the Scout HQ to spend a dry night. This also saw the investiture of two Venture Scouts who were supposed to be getting invested at the Jamboree. See the photos here.
