Beaver Scout Training Programme |
 |
The Beaver Scout Programme supports and promotes
the planning of balanced programs in the Colony.
It is made up of some areas of activity and a variety
of methods which take place within a framework of
key principles.
- Beaver Scouts learn about themselves
- exploring their feelings and developing good habits of health
and personal safety.
- Beaver Scouts get to know people
- finding out about people in their family, the family of
Scouting, the local community and the wider world.
- Beaver Scouts explore
- discovering the exciting world of science nature and
technology, exploring the natural and man-made world.
The Beaver Scout Membership Badge
This is awarded at a Promise Ceremony after four to six weeks
in the Colony. This badge is worn by all invested group members
and shows that they are members of the Scout Movement.
The Beaver Scout Badges
There are two Beaver Scout badges issued by the Beaver Scout
Leader after consecutive periods of six to eight months. The
requirements are:
Take part with your Colony in an active and balanced Colony
program for approximately six to eight months to receive the
first Beaver Scout Badge. To receive the second Beaver Scout
Badge, continue to take part in an active and balanced Colony
program for a further six to eight months.
The Beaver Scout Challenge
The Beaver Scout Challenge is optional. It is awarded to
individual Beaver Scouts who are both willing and able to
complete the four challenges. If attempted, the challenge
should be completed during the Beaver Scout's last few months
in the Colony. The challenges may be planned and done in groups
but each Beaver Scout must complete all four challenges.
Note: A Beaver Scout should begin working for the Cub Scout
Membership Award between four to six weeks before transferring
to the Cub Scout Pack. This is to be arranged in partnership
between the Cub Scout and Beaver Scout Leaders.
For the full requirements for each award please refer to the
Beaver Scout Badge Requirements section on
the website of the
UK Scout
Association.
